The Röllakan Collection was introduced in September 2024 and quickly became a success. In spring 2025, we added three new rugs to the collection, refreshed with a modern color palette and a new pattern. Among the new additions is the new pattern Ruth, characterized by a calmer, more structured checkered design. The collection is also complemented by a new colorway for the bestseller Hilma.
A Tribute to Scandinavian Female Craftsmanship
The collection brings together Scandinavian heritage and contemporary design. Inspired by traditional Swedish female craftsmanship, each rug in the collection is a modern interpretation of historical influences. All rugs are handwoven, featuring a horizontal weft of 100% wool and a vertical warp of 100% cotton.
"For the first launch of Röllakan, we chose to move away from pastels, opting for richer, more intense colors. However, we soon felt that the collection was missing a lighter, more spring-inspired touch, so we decided to create new patterns and colors to make the collection more cohesive. The diverse color palette now offers something for everyone, giving the collection a timeless feel."

RÖLLAKAN - A TRADITIONAL SWEDISH WEAVING ART
The traditional Swedish Röllakan rug is a woven rug characterized by its geometric and stylized patterns. Originally, Röllakan rugs were woven at home by women as part of the farm’s own craftsmanship and are often inherited as family heirlooms. With the new Röllakan collection, LAYERED has revived these classic elements and given them a modern and harmonious expression.
