ABOUT TEKLAN
in Stockholm in 2010, Tekla Evelina Severin, known
as Teklan, began her career as an interior architect,
specializing in large public spaces and high-end
residential projects. Since then, the renowned artist
and her distinctive style, self-described as 'warm minimalism,'
have gained global recognition. From collaborations with
international furniture and apparel companies,
solidifying Teklan’s position as a sought-after color expert
and trend forecaster, to receiving significant commissions
and holding solo exhibitions in cities such as Guatemala City,
Buenos Aires, Berlin, Los Angeles, Madrid,
New York, Reykjavik, and Stockholm.

“When designing, I always strive to achieve a feel of ‘everyday surrealism’, where the vision for all of my work is the intersection and the balance between playful and straight geometrical, and the perspective where the two and three-dimensional world intersects. The inspiration for my work comes from everywhere. I can find inspiration in a corner on a rough back street as well as in an art museum, but generally, as well as my practice is multidisciplinary, my inspiration are as well. From fashion, graphical design and architecture, to the Mediterranean lifestyle and nature, nobody does color as nature.”
